CONDITIONS FOR HALL HIRE

Under the Methodist rules, No intoxicating liquor of any description is allowed on the premises at any time

Government legislation prohibits smoking on our premises

A raffle is the only gambling allowed in observance with Methodist Church Council decision - Tickets may only be sold on the premises and no prize may exceed £50 in value

The Church Council reserves the right to review the hire charges on an annual basis

The Methodist Insurance Company strongly recommends that the hirer takes out Public Liability cover whilst using the premises if used on more than three times per year

The use of the kitchen is included in the hire charge, but all breakages must be accounted for through the Booking Officer

The person hiring is responsible for leaving the hall, toilets and kitchen in a tidy and satisfactory condition after use, remembering that there are others who wish to use the facilities

The person hiring is responsible not to disclose to anyone the code for the burglar alarm

All rubbish is to be removed from the premises at the end of each use

Only electrical appliances tested in the last 12 months may be brought onto the premises

The person hiring must have read, be familiar with and abide by the ‘Safeguarding’ practises of the Methodist Church

Should the Church be required for a Funeral Service, we reserve the right to cancel the session booked at 24 hour notice. All fees paid will, of course, be refunded in full

The FIRST AID box is kept in the kitchen along with the Accident & Incident Report Book (kept in the box adjacent to the First Aid Box) It is the responsibility of the person hiring to complete the Accident & Incident Book in the event of an accident or incident. Please also advise the Booking Officer or other member of the Church if a report has been entered

The Methodist Church, along with the whole Christian community, believes that each person has a value and dignity which comes directly from Gods creation of male and female in God’s own image and likeness. Christians see this as fulfilled by God’s re-creation of us in Christ. Among other things, this implies a duty to value all people as bearing the image of God and therefor protect them from harm

Midge Hall Methodist Church is committed to the safeguarding and protection of all children, young people and vulnerable adults and affirms that the needs of children or of people when they are vulnerable are paramount

Midge Hall Methodist Church recognises that none of us is invulnerable but that there is a particular care for those whose vulnerability is increased by situations, disabilities or by reduction in capabilities. It is recognised that this increased vulnerability may be temporary or permanent and may be visible or in invisible, but that it does not diminish our humanity and seeks to affirm the gifts and graces of all Gods people

Midge Hall Methodist Church seeks to ensure that all those who use the premises or are visited be Church representatives in their homes, are kept safe from harm and by clear policies and procedures. Should individuals breach those guidelines and/or abuse a position of trust, they will be held responsible to the Church Authority and to the appropriate authority
